Fuel Price: Demonstrators' target wrong

So many demonstrations around the world and in Malaysia too recently. But one thing I notice is that all of the demonstrators are targeting their own governments for fuel price hike. I Don't understand why they continue to do this. Only cause more inconvenient for the people and head ache for the government.

They should instead target the real culprits, the financial speculators and hedge funds managers who are the one driving up the price of oil.

"There’s no global fuel shortage" says Idris Jala, and another article in The Star related to this issue.

Hopefully the demonstrators get their target right, and hopefully bring the oil price down. Is it possible to put a stop to oil trading in NYSE and else where? I guess that is the only way to get the oil price back on track and stable in future.

But powerful people like Bush or Cheney whose family are in the oil business (I read about it somewhere) may not be so happy to support that idea. They must be making millions now at the expense of peoples suffering around the world.

Please do correct me if my comments are not accurate...

Change is coming to Malaysia?

I wonder whether change is really coming to Malaysia and whether Malaysians are really ready for change.

But we seen change of leadership took place in many countries recently like in Australia, Britain, Japan, Taiwan....etc. Most leadership change happened in these countries without any bloody event. Maybe these countries are much advanced democratically, and so it's people and politicians could embrace change more easily. We also see bloody struggle for change in some countries like Zimbabwe...etc with disgraced leaders who cares for nothing but to remain in power at all cost. We are also looking forward to the leadership change of the year that is taking place in USA, which the whole world is hoping to see.

"Change is come to America" says Barack Obama, the US Presidential nominee, with thundering cheers from thousands of Americans of all colors and religions.

Could anyone in Malaysia say "Change is coming to Malaysia" in front of a huge crowd without the possibly of being slap with a ISA ticket, and locked up infinitely? This maybe be exaggerating, but I guess, the fear of such punishment from the authority is in all Malaysian, due to past experiences.

But than again why the change? What is wrong with the same political party governing the country for decades if they are doing a good job? I mean, all that we have archived so far happened while the Barisan National governing the country. It all happen during Barisan National time and with Barisan National ministers. Even now with all the criticism, Prime Minister Abdulah Badawi is working to promote the country to bringing in new investment.

But the recent election result is shocking, not only to the BN but also to the opposition parties and the people themselves. It is like some deep resentments among the people have reached a tipping point and burst out like a volcano on the election day. People decided to vote for anyone other than UMNO, MCA, MIC and all other Barisan National's component parties. It is unbelievable!

I just trying to understand what is that the Barisan National government and their ministers could have done that is so bad to deserve such rejection. And the demand for change the government now that is causing much unrest and getting much attention in the country.

God! bless Malaysia.
